“Random lunches” can be held to promote random encounters between employees using digital solutions. Employees are allocated to groups of 2 to 4 people by an algorithm-directed lottery at regular intervals (like once a month). When the groups are assigned, they plan to meet for lunch or a coffee break. The group’s composition can be random, but diversity aspects can also be considered.
Employees who network through hierarchical levels and divisions are more likely to find new synergies and potentials while also creating spontaneous innovation projects. “Silos” or one-sided thought patterns are challenged, and the sense of belonging is strengthened.
